Player Data

A diminutive opening batsman, Liam Davis was born in Perth and played U17 and U19 cricket for Western Australia. He came into limelight with a century on U19 Test debut in January 2003, scoring 132 from 187 balls against England. Having made his first-class debut for Western Australia in 2007, he shone in only his second match with a brilliant116 against New South Wales. More good performance helped him gain a place at the Centre of Excellence. A rib injury meant that he missed most of the 2009-10 season but he announced his comeback in style to become the third Western Australia player, after Justin Langer and Luke Ronchi, to hit consecutive one-day centuries.

In November, he was handed a contract by Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League for the 2011–12 season but sadly he couldn't play any match due to injury. His best moment came in February 2012 when he scored 303 not out against New South Wales. He was then selected in the Australia A team to tour England in July-August 2012.
