Player Data

A right-handed opening batsman bursting with talent, Adrian Barath threatens to be the new face of West Indian cricket. Highly regarded by the legend Brian Lara, Barath has moved up through the ranks at a rapid pace achieving a lot at the domestic circuit and has forced his way through to the national side.

The young lad from Trinidad and Tobago made his first-class debut at the tender age of 16 but showcased his maturity by scoring a solid 73, and put together a 190-run partnership with Darren Ganga. Barath caught the eye of the national selectors in the year 2009 scoring a century for West Indies A against a strong English bowling line-up. His performance got him a berth in the national squad in a tour to Bangladesh. However, he did not get a chance to play in that series.

He eventually made his Test debut against Australia in November 2009 and made it memorable by coasting through to a brilliant century and announced himself on the world stage. The following year, he debuted in ODIs against Zimbabwe, scoring a quick fifty.
