Player Data

A connoisseur’s delight when in full flow, Bosman’s achievements have been limited to the realms of T20 cricket and for a batsman of his calibre hasn’t done justice to his abundant talent.

Bosman debuted for Griqualand West in 1997-98 but his first achievement was to come only in 2003-04 and that too in the shorter formats of the game. A stunning unbeaten 99 off 57 balls in a one dayer was followed by a fine Pro20 tournament where he top-scored with 219 runs, despite batting in the middle order. Following another consistent season, his daredevilry for South Africa A in a triangular tournament against Sri Lanka A in 2005-06 earned him a place in the national side. His first ODI appearance came in a series against Zimbabwe but failure leading to 2007 WC saw his axing and in the consequent two years he made only three T20 appearances, one of which involved a record 170 stand with Graeme Smith.

Following a poor 2010 T20 World Cup, his days had been numbered but his hard hitting abilities tempted Derbyshire to sign him as an overseas player for the Friends Provident T20 tournament.
