Derwin Christian is a right-handed batsman and a wicketkeeper, who made his first-class debut for Guyana in 2005. He has been a regular fixture in the Guyanese team and his pinch hitting has often come handy in the Twenty20 format. Derwin was impressive with the bat in the 2010-11 Caribbean T20, as he smashed 40 off 13 balls. Later, in August 2011, he was handed his maiden international call-up to the West Indies T20 squad to face England.
